Practice Philosophy:

I’ve been in practice 9 years, and my philosophy has developed over that time. My goal is to be pragmatic and patient-centered. I really try to understand where patients are coming from, and that involves doing some serious listening up front. I like to do a very thorough exam. Then, when the diagnosis, or at least the appropriate tests to get to the right diagnosis are clear, the goal is to form a partnership with the patient, and figure out the best treatment plan together.

In early 2010 I decided to join Evergreen Primary Care because of its deep commitment to exceptional patient care AND a great patient experience. I look forward to working with a team of dedicated colleagues as we develop our version of the Medical Home. This is an exciting medical model in which the patient has a “home” at his/her primary care doctor’s office. An electronic medical record is used to help coordinate medical care, like medications, dietary counseling and specialist referrals. Prevention and early intervention are key. President Obama fully supports this model, and it should result in a more “high quality, low cost” health care system.
